Let's Talk: Along with your contact information I'll need to know: where the program will be taking place, who the anticipated audience is, how large the anticipated audience may be, a potential date, and your funding requirements.
Letter: After we talk you send me (via USPS or email) a short letter of interest stating that you would like to host a performance in 2011 and would like me to submit a grant application on your behalf.
Application: You're done! Sit back, relax. I'll write the application, discover your LCC's local requirements, and assemble a snappy looking package to mail them. I'll email you a copy of the application once I'm done.
We Wait: While some Cultural Council's make decisions as early as November, many will not send me notification until early in 2011. At that time the council will also post their decisions online.
Good News: We receive funding. We book the program. Following the performance I will request a letter of review from you which I will enclose with the follow-up paperwork I send to the Cultural Council. I will be reimbursed by the council directly.
Bad News: We don't receive funding. Are you obligated to book a program. No. Let's try again next year.
